July 2007
Mack Brooks Exhibitions has now finalised dates for its second inter airport show in India. inter airport India 2008 will take place in New Delhi's Pragati Maidan Exhibition Centre from 11 to 13 September 2008.
The first inter airport India exhibition, inaugurated by Mr Ashok Chawla, the country's Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, was held in New Delhi in February 2007. That was so well received that there has been strong support from the airports industry and its suppliers for the event's early return.
The 2007 show attracted 2,994 trade visitors from 27 countries - most of them managers and officials from 46 cities or regions within India. With massive expansion foreseen in the country's air transport infrastructure, a high level of interest is set to continue among buyers in learning about the latest in airport technology and systems.
In all, 142 exhibitors from 18 countries took part in the last inter airport India. They represented all sectors of the airport systems and services market, ranging from baggage handling systems to airside products such as ground support equipment, and from airfield lighting systems to terminal installations. The approval rating by exhibitors was very high, with 95 per cent achieving their goals and considering the event a success.
inter airport India 2008 already has the support of the German Airport Technology & Equipment (GATE) group, British Airport Systems & Equipment Association (BASEA) and Ubifrance. It also benefits from the endorsement and co-operation of the Indian government and India's airport authorities. Many of the exhibitors at the 2007 show have given an early indication of their intention to take part in next year's event.
Show Director Tom Ho commented: "The very positive response we received to our first inter airport India exhibition confirms our view that India offers huge opportunities for suppliers of airport products and technologies - and that this is a market that is keen to learn about the best that those suppliers can offer."
Approval ratings for the 2007 show were boosted by a highly successful and well-attended seminar programme devised by an Advisory Committee chaired by Dr K Ramalingam, Chairman of the Airports Authority of India. A full conference and 'Meet the Buyers' programme is planned for inter airport India 2008, with details to be announced at a later date.
Mack Brooks Exhibitions has long-standing expertise in organising trade exhibitions for the airports sector, most notably through its inter airport Europe shows. The next of these takes place in Munich, Germany, in October 2007, the 16th in this series of world-leading events. The company also successfully staged inter airport China events in Beijing in 2004 and 2006, the latter visited by some 3,000 industry professionals. This exhibition returns to Beijing in December 2008.
