LILLE TO HOST FIRST MOBITRAFIC EXHIBITION
25/01/2010 10:56:15
A major new exhibition covering road traffic management and highways operation will take place from 5 to 7 April 2011. To be staged in France at the Lille Grand Palais Exhibition Centre, MOBITRAFIC 2011 will provide an international showcase for the technologies, equipment and expertise needed to make highways more efficient. Exhibitors at the show will present systems, products and services in four key areas:
Road traffic management
Safety
Highways operation and maintenance
Parking
In France alone, the highways network totals nearly 400,000 km. Of the country’s 11,000 km of motorways, three-quarters are operated as private concessions, generating annual revenues of €8 billion. Investments in motorways of €1.9 billion were made in 2008. Similar high levels of investment are evident across Europe as highways authorities strive to make their road network more efficient and safer.
MOBITRAFIC aims to serve this vital international market by bringing together suppliers of the latest advances in traffic management technology and the authorities, agencies and companies responsible for the operation and maintenance of highways networks.
Accompanying MOBITRAFIC 2011 will be a full programme of associated events aimed at exchanging knowledge on developments and trends in the highways sector. Details of these will be published closer to the event.
MOBITRAFIC 2011 will share the Lille Grand Palais venue with SIFER 2011, now well established as the only rail industry exhibition to be regularly staged in France. With an increasing focus worldwide on ways in which road and rail modes can work together, the co-location of the two events is particularly appropriate.
MOBITRAFIC is organised by Mack Brooks France, part of UK-based Mack Brooks Exhibitions. The company is a world leader in the management of trade events for the rail industry, including SIFER in Lille, France, as well as in other sectors including tunnelling, airports technology and the metal industries.
